Quiet Time is Happy Time

Since becoming a Mother, I have never savored moments of silence as much as I do now. Most days I get my quiet time in during Darcy's naps and after she goes to bed. I consider myself very lucky to have a 2 year old who takes 2 or 3 hour naps. Sometimes I have to actually go wake her up because I think she's been sleeping too long. But then when she wakes up, it's on like gangbusters! I swear scientists need to figure out a way to bottle the energy of a toddler.

On days that have been a nonstop circus here at the house, John and Darcy are always kind enough to let me have some time to myself, and for that I am grateful. Being able to spend just a few minutes alone is a great way to recharge and emerge feeling like a new person.

Just last week I gifted a "Do Not Disturb" door hanger to Laura as payment for watching Darcy while John and I went to a movie. (Star Trek was totally great, by the way!) I started thinking about how I could use one here at the house for when the new baby is here. Then I really got on a roll and started making more thinking other people might benefit from them as well.

I decided to get a little bit fancier with this one and add the rick-rack trim. I like how it gives it a modern vintage feel.

"Quiet Please" Owl.

Don't you just love the wooden lettering?

These door hangers have been added to shop, as well as another like the one I made for Laura.

Don't forget, I do still have blank tea towels available for purchase!

What do you like to do for your quiet time?

Hugs & Stitches,
Amy

Hey Amy, those are just lovely! I have two kids ages 4 and 9, and I relish my alone time, too. Usually I like to just sit outside with a cocktail after everyone's asleep and stare up at the night sky. Ahhh....!

I lOVE these! Especially the owl. I needed these when audrey was teeny-tiny and everyone wanted to come visit just as I was getting her to sleep ;)
